Beverly Wells

As a child, Cinderella-type stories always fascinated Beverly. But as a wife and mother of two active sons, and working full time first in hospitals, then medical groups, and finally in Public Health as a homecare and clinical nurse, as well as serving on Homeland Security in the Medical Reserve Corps, she read medical books with little time to read for pleasure. But when a severe back injury laid her low and a friend loaned her numerous romance novels, she literally became enthralled. Thus, while working for Public Health, she SLOWLY began her journey to writing a novel in any spare time she could find.

After joining RWA, CTRWA, and her local writing chapter LCRW in Rochester, NY to hone her writing skills, she reached the point of submitting her first finished novel. After countless rejections, but much determination and rewrites, the award-winning author obtained her dream. Her debut Historical Romance, Only When the Loon Sings--a witty, sensuous love story written to raise awareness of ALS(Lou Gehrig’s Disease)--was published by TWRP in 2012. Currently she’s delighted to be joining Prairie Rose Publications in writing Western, Historical Romances.

She feels blessed to live on one of the lovely NYS Finger Lakes with her very own hero, and fantastic black lab, Jamie. When not writing, she volunteers at the Humane Society, enjoys cooking, flower gardening, swimming, boating, Nascar, and most of all being with family and friends, especially with her two lovely granddaughters. Reading romance, whether Western, Regency or Medieval (especially Irish and Scottish ones) has become vital to her existence.

Now, she relishes writing humorous, sexy Western Historical Romances where she jumps at the chance to embroider in a lesson learned or bring a heartfelt topic to her readers’ awareness.

Watch for her upcoming novel, All For Love sometime in the fall of 2014 published by PRP. She not only promises you’ll enjoy a sensuous love story involving the humorous calamities of a feisty, outspoken schoolmarm out to stop abuse in a small Wyoming town, a doctor with a hidden past that has him vowing to remain a confirmed bachelor and their joined fight to save a youngster’s life, but you’ll share in a tribute to Social Services and Protective Agencies.

Reviews for Only When the Loon Sings

5 stars:  “This wonderful love story taking place in 1880 had me captivated from the beginning...Ms. Wells has a descriptive voice, is a wonderful story-teller, and the research she weaves into this story is amazing and informative. Treat yourself, you’ll be glad you did!!!”   --Mimi Barbour, author of She’s Me

4 stars:  “I like the concept of a mail order bride and this book excited me with the twist as the mail order bride wasn’t the typical stereotype. I fell in love with this book, I loved the characters and the way book was written…”   --Manic Readers

4 stars:  “Beverly Wells brings to life the timberlands and the bustling lumbering camp. She takes the reader heart-stoppingly close to the danger the lumberjacks accept as part of their jobs. Her descriptions stir the senses. Of course, the loons on the lake in Washington Territory and near Luke’s home bring wonder and a touch of magic to the story….”  --Long and Short Reviews
